Who doesn’t love a salty-sweet dessert? Pretzels have always found themselves alongside common sweets, and for a good reason. Everyone has their favorite combination, but we wanted to share more inspiration with you! Below are three salty-sweet pretzel items that are sure to become a staple in your home!
Peanut Butter Pretzel Ice Cream
This treat can be as in-depth or simple as you want. Broken down:
- Start with a base of vanilla ice cream. This can be homemade with a machine, a no-church recipe, or store-bought. Make sure it’s soft but not melted.
- Stir in peanut butter (you may want to warm the peanut butter a bit).
- Add in pieces of chocolate-covered pretzels.
- Add your ice cream into a container and freeze.
Tip: If you prefer not to have dairy, you can peel, chop and freeze some bananas, and blend them with non-dairy milk and vanilla to make “nice cream” as the base for this treat!
Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownies
This decadent treat will leave you with one question: how did they disappear so fast? Whether you make each component from scratch or use store-bought, the result is a sweet, salty, and truly amazing treat! To make these brownies:
- Bake your favorite box mix or brownie recipe.
- When they come out of the oven, carefully press pretzel bits into the top.
- Once cooled, drizzle salted caramel and dark chocolate over the top, and finish with more crushed pretzels.
Pretzel-Crust Chocolate Pie
We mentioned pretzel crusts in our previous blog, but there are so many great recipes out there we had to share them again! For this pie:
- Pulse pretzels in a food processor with melted butter and salt (or use our extra salty pretzels!).
- Press the pie crust into your pie dish.
- Make your favorite chocolate pie recipe and carefully pour in the filling.
- Chill in the fridge and enjoy!
Tip: you can take it up a notch and make a peanut butter whipped cream for serving!
