At Uncle Henry’s Pretzels, our handmade pretzels can last up to 6 months. Nevertheless, you’ll want to keep your pretzels staying fresh for as long as possible. From freezing your pretzels to storing them in a bread box, there are several ways to do this. Read on to learn more:
Freezing pretzels
Most types of food can be frozen, and pretzels are one of them. Pretzels can last up to a month in the freezer. We recommend wrapping them in a double layer of plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and then placing them in a freezer-safe bag. Label the bag with what’s inside and the date so that you remember how long your pretzels have been in the freezer. When you’re ready to take them out, you can let them thaw or reheat them in an oven or microwave.
Place it in a bread box
Bread boxes, as their name suggests, are typically used to store bread. But you can also use them to store pretzels. Bread boxes are specifically designed to keep bread (and bread-like products) fresh. They do this by letting only a little air to circulate—enough to get rid of any moisture, but not too much that the bread will dry out.
Keep it in a paper bag
Finally, you can always keep your handmade pretzels in a paper bag. Paper bags are preferable to plastic bags, as these allow the moisture to escape. Keep in mind, though, that with a paper bag your pretzels may become stale more quickly than by freezing them or placing them in a bread box.
